Frankenhooker (Synapse) - Blu-ray

Frankenhooker (Blu-ray) presents Frank Henenlotter's outrageous cult horror-comedy in a new 2025 restoration created from the archival uncut original 35mm vault materials. Medical student Jeffrey Franken refuses to accept the death of his fiancée Elizabeth after a horrific lawnmower accident leaves her body in pieces. Determined to restore her to life, he assembles a new body using the remains of Manhattan prostitutes lured by his homemade drug "Super Crack," but his experiment creates an uncontrollable monster instead of the woman he loved.

Blending outrageous gore, black comedy, and classic Frankenstein mythology, Frankenhooker has earned lasting cult status for its inventive practical effects, sharp satire, and unapologetically outrageous sense of humor. James Lorinz stars alongside Patty Mullen, Louise Lasser, Shirley Stoler, Jennifer Delora, Beverly Bonner, and John Zacherle in one of Frank Henenlotter's signature productions.

This Blu-ray includes the same comprehensive supplemental package as the 4K edition, featuring an audio commentary with Frank Henenlotter and Gabe Bartalos, A Salad That Was Once Named Elizabeth, A Stitch in Time: The Make-Up Effects of Frankenhooker, Turning Tricks: Jennifer Delora Remembers Frankenhooker, Jennifer Delora's photo scrapbook, and the original theatrical trailer, along with a remastered 5.1 surround sound mix.

Released by Synapse Films, this region-free Blu-ray presents the complete 85-minute uncut feature in its acclaimed 2025 restoration.
